The Color of Truth

I’ve been writing for years. It’s my solace in times of despair and my camera in times of joy. To me, my entries are like lyrical snapshots chronicling life events. In a quiet corner, with a pen and paper is where I find my voice. I say all the things I want and feel. And in that corner, I don’t know how to shut up.
But I have decided to open my quiet little corner. Sure, sometimes you’ll come in and wish you hadn’t. In this carnival that is my mind, there’s no telling on what crazy ride you’ll find yourself. But the overall goal is that you leave with some food for thought, some morsel never tasted, some dish undiscovered.
I will not limit myself to specific topics. All matters are subjected to the scrutiny of my pen/keyboard. This includes topics as light as funny family conversations (and if you know my family, you know I have an arsenal of material) and themes as deep as politics and current events.
I’m open to comments, questions, concerns and expansions. I love to have my opinion and thoughts dissected. All viewpoints are accepted and welcome here. My only request is that they remain respectful, as I will do with yours.
We may not always agree. But this blog is my truth. My real. The world according to me; colored with my life’s experiences, histories and personality.
There will not always be a right or wrong. The truth is made up of a wonderful array of differences, intentions, inferences and insinuations. What happens when we’re open to a world that accepts those? I say we find out something that tests our stubbornness; something that tests our compulsion to place everything neatly and categorically in a box. We find out something that rocks our entire world and the foundation on which we’ve built every opinion and thought we’ve ever had.
We find that truth is not always black and white.
Sometimes, the color of truth…is gray.
You thought I was going to do some clever play on my name, didn’t you? Nah, too easy.
